Connecting Apple Watch to Strava

Updated: 15 hours ago

Although a direct connection between TriFundit and Apple Fitness isn't available at the moment, you can still easily sync your data with Strava. With our simple workaround, you’ll keep your miles flowing seamlessly through to TriFundit.

Here’s how to get it set up:

Step 1: Open the Strava App

Ensure that you have the Strava app installed on your device. If not, download it from the App Store and log in to your Strava account.

Step 2: Access Settings

Once you're logged in, navigate to the "Settings" section within the Strava app. You can find this by tapping on your profile icon (bottom right corner of the screen) and then hitting the gear icon (top right corner of screen).

Step 3: Connect Apps & Devices

Within the Settings menu, tap on the option labeled "Connect Apps & Devices"

Step 4: Find Apple Fitness

Tap on the Apple Watch logo to initiate the connection process.

Step 5: Authorize Access

You'll be prompted to authorize Strava to access your Apple Fitness data. Follow the on-screen instructions to grant the necessary permissions.

Step 6: Choose Data to Share

Once connected, you may be asked to select the types of data you want to share between Apple Fitness and Strava. Typically, this includes workout types such as running, cycling, walking, and more.

Step 7: Confirm Connection

After selecting your preferences, confirm the connection between Apple Fitness and Strava. You may receive a confirmation message indicating that the connection was successful.

Step 8: Sync Workouts

Now that your accounts are linked, any new workouts recorded in Apple Fitness should automatically sync with your Strava account. Depending on your settings, this process may happen in real-time or periodically throughout the day.

Step 9: Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues during the connection process or with syncing workouts, double-check that you've granted the necessary permissions and that both apps are up to date. You can also try disconnecting and reconnecting the apps to refresh the connection.

Step 10: Enjoy sharing your progress & raising funds for your cause!

With Apple Fitness and Strava connected, your workouts are pushed automatically to TriFundit via Strava. If you’re miles aren’t pushing through properly, or you need additional help getting set up - reach out to us at support@trifundit.com

Helpful notes:

Passive data (like steps) aren’t pushed to Strava unless they are part of a workout. Make sure you select your workout type on your Apple Watch before running, walking, rowing, or cycling to ensure every mile is logged and pushed through towards your goal!
