Connect your Apple Watch to Garmin

Updated: 13 hours ago

If you're using Apple Fitness to track your workouts, no worries! We have a simple solution that lets you log your progress and sync your miles with TriFundit through Garmin.

Here’s how to get it set up:

Step 1: Install the Garmin Connect App

Ensure that you have the Garmin Connect app installed on your device. If not, download it from the App Store and log in to your Garmin account.

Step 2: Install a Third-Party Sync App

Since Apple Watch does not directly sync with Garmin Connect, you’ll need a third-party app such as "HealthFit" or "RunGap" to facilitate the connection. Download and install one of these apps from the App Store.

Step 3: Open the Sync App

Open the third-party sync app you installed and follow the on-screen setup instructions.

Step 4: Authorize Access to Apple Health

You'll be prompted to authorize the sync app to access your Apple Health data, where your Apple Watch stores fitness data. Follow the on-screen instructions to grant the necessary permissions.

Step 5: Select Garmin Connect as the Destination

In the sync app, select Garmin Connect as the destination for your data. You may need to log in to your Garmin account if prompted.

Step 6: Choose Data to Sync

Select the types of data you want to sync between Apple Health and Garmin Connect. This typically includes workout types such as running, cycling, walking, and more.

Step 7: Initiate the Sync

Start the sync process within the third-party app. Depending on the app, this may happen automatically or require manual initiation.

Step 8: Confirm Connection

After the initial sync, confirm that your data is appearing correctly in Garmin Connect. You may receive a confirmation message indicating that the sync was successful.

Step 9: Sync Workouts

Now that your accounts are linked, any new workouts recorded on your Apple Watch should automatically sync with your Garmin Connect account. Depending on your settings, this process may happen in real-time or periodically throughout the day.

Step 10: Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues during the connection process or with syncing workouts, double-check that you've granted the necessary permissions, and that all apps involved are up to date. You can also try disconnecting and reconnecting the apps to refresh the connection.

Step 11: Enjoy sharing your progress & raising funds for your cause!

With Apple Watch and Garmin Connect connected via the third-party app, your workouts are pushed automatically to TriFundit via Garmin Connect. If your miles aren’t pushing through properly, or you need additional help getting set up - reach out to us at support@trifundit.com
