About Ability Tree

Ability Tree was founded in 2010 by missionaries, Joe and Jen Butler, who made it their mission to come alongside families impacted by disability to provide R.E.S.T.

When Joe and Jen's son, Micah, was diagnosed with multiple disabilities, they realized the overwhelming need for support of families who are impacted by disability. Driven to make community possible and make Jesus accessible across the U.S., Ability Tree was planted.

In 2023 we branched out further by launching Ability Tree Treasure Coast in Florida and by equipping more churches nationally through the national Consulting Branch. We now have 4 Community branches dedicated to "making community possible" for families impacted by disability, and a Consulting branch that equips churches nationally to help "make Jesus accessible" to families in their local communities.

What is TriFundit?

TriFundit is a crowdfunding app designed for fitness-minded people to raise money for their chosen causes through their regular training and exercise activities. By integrating with popular fitness apps, athletes can generate donations based on the miles they complete.
How does TriFundit work?

Once you connect your fitness app to TriFundit, the platform tracks your activities such as running, cycling, walking, paddling, and swimming. Supporters can pledge to donate a certain amount per mile you complete, generating ongoing support for your cause.
Which fitness apps are compatible with TriFundit?

TriFundit is compatible with Strava, Garmin, Fitbit, Peloton, Google Fit and Oura. However, all major wearable devices and fitness apps are able to be connected through Strava.
Is TriFundit only for endurance athletes?

While TriFundit is tailored for endurance sports, anyone who tracks their fitness activities through our compatible apps can use the platform to raise money for a cause they are passionate about.
How do I start a fundraiser on TriFundit?

Setting up a fundraiser is easy. Create an account on TriFundit, connect your fitness app, choose your cause, and share your profile with friends, family, and potential sponsors.
What is the minimum age to create an account on TriFundit?

The minimum age required to create an account on TriFundit is 13 years old. This complies with online privacy protection laws and ensures that younger users have parental consent when engaging with our platform and services.
Can I raise money for any cause with TriFundit?

Yes, you can raise funds for any cause as long as it is associated with a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. If you don’t see your chosen non-profit listed in our organization finder, send us an email at support@trifundit.com. We’re continuously adding new non-profits to our database. Once your non-profit is added, you can start your fundraising campaign and make every mile count towards supporting your cause.
How are the funds transferred to the chosen cause?

Funds raised through TriFundit are securely processed using Stripe, a trusted payment platform. Donations are collected in the TriFundit Giving Fund and distributed on a quarterly basis to the cause or non-profit organization you’ve chosen to support. This ensures efficient and transparent handling of all contributions, allowing you to make a meaningful impact through your fitness activities.
Can I sponsor anonymously?

Yes, you can choose to hide your name from appearing publicly when sponsoring an athlete. However, your donation will still be visible to the organization being supported.
Can I change my sponsor amount?

Yes, you can adjust your sponsorship amount by logging into your TriFundit account and navigating to the sponsorship section. There, you can modify your pledge per mile or adjust your total sponsorship.
How do I cancel or pause my sponsorship?

To cancel or pause your sponsorship, go to your dashboard and select the "Sponsorships" tab. There, you'll be able to view all the people you sponsor and easily edit or pause your subscription.
How much does TriFundit charge for its services?

TriFundit charges a 7% fee on the funds raised to maintain the platform and support our users. Additionally, there is a standard credit card processing fee of 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction, which goes directly to our payment processor for secure handling of financial transactions.
Are there any other hidden fees I should be aware of?

No, there are no hidden fees. We believe in transparency, so the only costs are the platform fee and the payment processing fee. The total cost is deducted from the funds raised before being sent to your chosen cause.
What type of payments do you accept?

The quickest way to support a campaign is by giving online using your credit card or debit card. TriFundit is unable to accept a check or payment by telephone.
Is my personal and payment information secure with TriFundit?

Yes, all sensitive payment information is securely handled by Stripe, which complies with the highest industry security standards. We do not store any payment data on our servers.
What currencies/countries are supported by TriFundit?

TriFundit supports the same currencies and countries as Stripe, enabling international sponsorships. For a full list of supported currencies and countries, refer to Stripe's documentation or contact our support team. However, our TriFundit organization search currently only lists charities registered with the IRS as 501(c)3 organizations.
